Arrive at sustainable and cost-effective solutions for processing foliage residues, specifically within material applications and material cycles, with a positive business story. Thus, we will also look for alternative and innovative processing routes.
Initially, we will look at the current state and results of previous research: are there minor adjustments in cultivation techniques/equipment that could significantly impact processing possibilities afterwards? What bottlenecks do we encounter (e.g. legislation, defining missing knowledge, legal framework,…)?
Then we will look for processing avenues: farm composting and material application (bio-economy), such as using plant residues as feedstock for other materials. Professional composting is included in the C-Martlife project.
Within the project, farm composting will be started with a focus on alternative growing supplies and with the bio-economy, trials will also be created.
Selova is committed to communicating with/between horticulturists and bio-economy to tune in to each other’s needs. There is a close collaboration with the C-Martlife and Zero-Waste projects.
