Expertise from RSVP is transferred to growers through consultation. Advisory services are provided for all types of lettuce, endives, celery, zucchine and leek production systems. Based on experience and regular visits, these services are designed and implemented to support growers seeking to optimize production of their crops. Consulting and advisory services are available to growers at a minimal charge according to surface area under cultivation.

RSVP also provides basic laboratory analyses to growers. Analyses can be conducted on soil samples, water samples, and leafy vegetables. Samples may be submitted and analyzed for nitrate content, ammonium content, pH value, and soluble salts (EC) content. The laboratory is known for the quality and rapid reporting of test results. Additionally, every soil analysis report comes complete with a practical fertilization advice section, a customary added value to RSVP's grower clientele. These basic analyses are available to growers at a minimal charge per soil, water or plant sample according to the pricing schedule provided further below.

Effective 25 May, 2004, RSVP was granted an official Good Experimental Practice (GEP) designation for the testing of pesticides for agricultural applications. GEP represents a quality system for conducting field experiments. According to this certification, RSVP researchers can conduct experiments needed for registration of new pesticides or for the expansion of registration documentation of existing pesticides to include additional applications, whether intended for open field or greenhouse production environments. Computers and the Internet have become essential in our society in general and, in particular, to the horticultural sector. As one of its outreach programs, RSVP meets the needs of growers seeking to optimize their computer knowledge by offering the following courses at its facilities each Winter:

• The ABCs of the Computer: basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel as well as basic Internet principles and navigation
• Perfection of Computer Knowledge: completion of MS Word, MS Excel, e-mail, and Internet training)
• Efficient use of Internet and E-mail
• First Aid for Computer Emergencies: what to do if your computer fails

A course of 2 or 3 evenings costs respectively 12 EUR and 18 EUR per (textbook, and a beverage during each lesson included).
